IAPN's work is delivered through five interlocking flagship programme areas. Each is designed to translate our mission into direct, measurable engagement with governments, diplomatic missions, institutions, and citizens.
Our International Ambassadors of Peace Summits and Internal Peace and Security Summits are our principal convening platforms, bringing together heads of government or their representatives, ambassadors and high commissioners, monarchs and traditional rulers, civil society, clergy, and youth leaders for structured dialogue on peace and security. These summits have been hosted in South Africa, Rwanda, Nigeria, Eswatini, and the United Kingdom, and are evolving into The Ambassadors of Peace Delegates Conference — a global gathering of delegates from every country, now incorporating a formal Peace Awards component, to be hosted in Canada.
IAPN deploys observer missions to support the credibility, transparency, and peaceful conduct of elections in partner countries, in line with our commitment to Article 1 of the UN Charter and its emphasis on peaceful, lawful resolution of disputes that could threaten peace.
The Peace Training Institute is IAPN's capacity-building arm, equipping emerging peace ambassadors, youth leaders, and community actors with skills in conflict resolution, diplomacy, mediation, and civic leadership — building a durable, trained corps of peace practitioners across our chapters.
IAPN's Peace Awards recognize and celebrate deserving, distinguished international actors of peace — a component newly formalized as part of The Ambassadors of Peace Delegates Conference in Canada, elevating the recognition given to individuals and institutions whose work advances the peace agenda.
Convened by the International Ambassadors of Peace Women's Wing, the Miss Peace Ambassadors Global pageantry programme — building on the National Miss Peace Ambassador platform launched in Ghana in 2016 — identifies, trains, and empowers young women as visible ambassadors of peace, extending the movement into new countries year on year.
Convening power: bringing together government, traditional authority, diplomatic missions, and civil society on a single, protocol-appropriate platform.
Structured, multi-year programming rather than one-off events — summits, training cycles, and pageants that build a pipeline of engaged peace ambassadors.
Deliberate youth and women's inclusion, ensuring the peace agenda is carried forward by the next generation.
Country-by-country expansion through national chapters, allowing global standards to be adapted to local context.
Formal recognition mechanisms — the Peace Awards — that incentivize and celebrate sustained peace action.
Across our programme areas, IAPN works toward outcomes that are both immediate — the successful convening of a summit, the crowning of a new cohort of peace ambassadors, the peaceful conduct of a monitored election — and long-term: the steady growth of a trained, networked corps of peace practitioners and advocates spanning every region of the world.
● A growing, active network of national chapters carrying the peace agenda into new countries each year.
● A trained corps of youth and community peace ambassadors emerging from the Peace Training Institute.
● Strengthened diplomatic and institutional relationships evidenced by sustained ambassador and high commissioner participation in our summits.
● Credible, transparent election observation contributing to peaceful democratic transitions in partner countries.
● A globally representative Ambassadors of Peace Delegates Conference, convening delegates from every country and formally recognizing outstanding peace actors through the Peace Awards.
● Growing institutional recognition of IAPN as a diplomatic and international organization in its own right.
