Inner Peace: The Foundation of a Harmonious World,
Lecture by International Peace Ambassador, Abukari Inbrana Awudu at Crystal Galaxy College, Accra, Ghana
Students and faculty of Crystal Galaxy College gathered recently for a powerful lecture on inner peace, delivered by International Peace Ambassador Abukari Inbrana Awudu of the International Ambassadors of Peace Network.
The lecture centered on a simple but profound truth: lasting peace in the world starts within each individual.
True Peace Begins Within
Ambassador Awudu opened with a reminder that external peace cannot exist without internal calm.
“Be reminded that true peace begins within. As we strive for global harmony, let’s nurture our inner peace – the foundation for peace with our neighbors, communities, and the world.”
He explained that when people are at war with themselves—through stress, anger, resentment, or fear—it becomes difficult to extend patience and understanding to others. Inner peace, he said, is not passive or passive withdrawal. It is an active state of self-awareness and emotional balance that allows a person to respond to conflict with clarity rather than reaction.
Radiating Peace Outward
The ambassador emphasized that inner peace creates a ripple effect. When one person chooses kindness over hostility, understanding over judgment, and compassion over indifference, those actions influence others.
“By cultivating peace within, we can radiate it outward, creating a ripple effect of kindness, understanding, and compassion,” he told the audience.
He encouraged students to see themselves as agents of change. In classrooms, families, and communities, small acts of empathy and dialogue can shift the atmosphere and reduce tension. This, he argued, is how global harmony is built—not only through treaties and policy, but through daily choices by individuals.
A Call to Action for Students
Ambassador Awudu closed with a direct call to the students of Crystal Galaxy College to become carriers of peace in their spheres of influence.
“Together, let’s spread peace and positivity,” he said.
He urged them to practice reflection, manage conflict constructively, and lead with compassion. The college, as a center of learning, he noted, is an ideal place to cultivate these habits that will serve students not only in their careers but in their roles as citizens and leaders.
The lecture was hosted by the International Ambassadors of Peace Network as part of its youth engagement program in Ghana. For more on peacebuilding initiatives and how to support youth leadership programs, visit the International Ambassadors of Peace Network
